ACOUSTIC SUNBURST

I led the 3D design process and created the artwork for Native Instruments' new Session Guitarist: Acoustic Sunburst. My role in this project was to 3D model a guitar, create a 3D setting, ideate and iterate on several concepts, prototype each concept, and how it could best be presented to users in their workflow.

BRIEF
Acoustic Sunburst is the perfect songwriting companion and we wanted it to feel familiar using these basic guidelines to start.
• Mood: Warm, filtered lighting, cosy and rustic studio environment, vintage, Nashville recording session vibe.
• Angle & Positioning: Guitar on the image should resemble the previous acoustic guitar series in our portfolio
• Colors: Orange and teal

3D MODELING
We wanted the guitar to be a jumbo body with several features that pay tribute to various classic acoustic guitar models.

TEXTURES & LIGHTING
The body needed to have a sunburst color and warm lighting to bring out the orange and yellow colors in the texture.

SCENE
The team decided on a studio session setting that complimented the laidback, warm and rustic mood of the guitar but that wasn't distracting or crowded.

OUTCOME
After several iterations and fine-tuning some details, we were happy with the final artwork.

APPLICATION
Acoustic Sunburst Deluxe successfully launched and it is now part of the Komplete Guitar library in Native Instruments website.
